Questions to Guide Readers

A good novel has underlying questions for the reader to answer. Here are some of the key questions behind the narrative of Winners:

1. In Winners, both Kate and Elise begin as insecure and even fearful of the competition ahead.  How do they change to become capable of winning?

2. What is it about the concept of competition and winning that is so universal and that can teach us all lessons of good and bad?

3.  Both Kate and Elise vow to never trust men again.  WHat one characteristic is different about JP and Pete that convinces them otherwise and why is it so important in love?

4.  Tatsuya is much younger than Elise and in is in over her head.  How does Elise go from competitor to mentor to help her?

5.  Both Eric and Daniel are truly evil characters.  What shaped their evil behavior and, in the case of Daniel, what will make him change?
